Terms of Engagement
Last updated: July 7, 2026
1. Introduction
10 Point Partners is an executive search and leadership advisory firm. We work with a small number of clients at a time, by design — because search done well takes attention, not volume.
This page isn't a legal contract, and it isn't a guarantee of any particular result. It's a statement of how we actually operate: what you can expect from us, what we need from you, and how we treat the people whose careers pass through our hands. The specific terms of any engagement — scope, fees, timelines, and guarantees — are set out in a separate written agreement signed by 10 Point Partners and the client. If anything on this page ever conflicts with that signed agreement, the signed agreement controls.
2. Our Commitment to Clients
- We tell you the truth about the market, the role, and the candidate — even when it's not what you want to hear.
- We don't pad pipelines with names to look busy. If we're slower than expected, it's because the right person isn't ready yet, not because we've gone quiet.
- We stay close to the search from kickoff to close — not just the fun parts.
- We flag problems early — comp misalignment, scope creep, a role that's harder to fill than expected — instead of letting them surface three weeks in.
3. Your Commitment as a Client or Partner
Search only works as a two-way effort. We ask for:
- A real point of contact who can make decisions, or get us to someone who can.
- Honest, timely feedback on candidates. A fast "no" is more useful to us than a slow "maybe."
- Alignment on comp, timeline, and process before we go to market — not after.
- Respect for candidates' time. Ghosting a candidate reflects on you as much as it does on us.
4. Our Commitment to Candidates
Candidates aren't a means to a placement fee. They're people making one of the biggest decisions of their careers, and we treat the process that way.
- We tell candidates the truth about the role, the company, and their odds — including when we don't think it's the right fit.
- We follow up. Silence after an interview is one of the worst parts of this industry, and we don't do it.
- We don't oversell a role to get someone to say yes. A bad placement helps no one.
5. What We Ask of Candidates
We ask candidates to show up the same way we do:
- Be straight with us about interest level, other processes, and comp expectations.
- Don't ghost. If you're out, tell us — a two-line message is enough.
- Come prepared. We'll brief you properly; use it.
6. Using Our Website
Our website exists to give you a clear picture of who we are and how to reach us — not to collect information for its own sake.
- Anything you submit through our site — a résumé, an inquiry, a message — goes directly to a real person on our team, not a database that never gets touched.
- We don't sell or share your contact information with third parties.
- If you reach out and don't hear back within a few business days, something went wrong on our end — email us directly.
- The content, design, and materials on this site belong to 10 Point Partners. You're welcome to read and share them; please don't copy or reuse them as your own.
How we handle the information you submit is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Confidentiality & Data Handling
Search work runs on trust, and trust runs on discretion.
- Client searches are confidential by default. We don't discuss active roles outside the people who need to know.
- Candidate information is shared only with the client for that specific search — never shopped around, never reused without permission.
- We keep records only as long as they're useful, and we're upfront if we ever need to retain something longer for a specific reason.
8. Ethical Standards & Non-Negotiables
Some things we won't bend on — regardless of the client, the fee, or the pressure:
- We don't misrepresent a role, a company, or a candidate to close faster.
- We don't recruit out of a client's own organization while we're actively working with them.
- We don't submit a candidate to two clients for the same type of role without their knowledge.
- We walk away from work that asks us to compromise on any of the above.
9. How We Resolve Issues
Things go sideways sometimes — a miscommunication, a missed deadline, a candidate who wasn't what they seemed. When that happens:
- We say so directly and early, rather than letting it fester.
- We talk it through with whoever's affected before deciding on a fix.
- If we made a mistake, we own it and correct course. That's part of the job, not an exception to it.
10. The Standard We Hold Ourselves To
We built 10 Point Partners around the idea that recruiting done right is a long-term relationship, not a transaction. If you work with us once, we want it to be because the process was good enough that you'd call us again — and that a candidate we placed would recommend us to a friend.
That's the standard. Hold us to it.
